What a man, what a friend to so many, what a legend and what an honour it has been to have been able to share some great times with Egon.
Our eldest left home just before his 18th birthday to learn the ropes in the yachting industry under the watchful eye of Egon & Caroline. We thought he would be gone for a month or so but we didn’t see him for over a year, that alone showed us how at home Egon had been made him feel, even though we did hear he was on the receiving end of a few “Yacht Dad” bollockings lol.
There are so few people we could have trusted to look after Josh whilst so far from home but Egon totally transformed his life, it’s even down to this man and Caroline that Josh met his lovely wife Chloe.
We’ve been so lucky to have visited Caroline and Egon at their lovely home in Majorca, (he made one mean paella) and always looked forward to seeing them both at family gatherings. His big personality could light up the darkest rooms and it always ended with laughter and smiles when he was around.
It goes without saying how much he will be missed, but also how fondly he will be remembered
All our love and thought’s
