In Loving Memory of Egon

Egon was a true legend. To know him was to love him – his warmth, humor, and larger-than-life presence made an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He was a devoted husband to Caroline, the best dad to Lars and Laela, and the most loving grandpa. He was a man who lived fully, always giving of himself to others and making everyone around him feel special. His quick wit and generous heart were constants in his life, and those who knew him have countless cherished memories to hold onto.

Egon's sudden passing has left a tremendous void in our hearts, and we take this time to reflect on his legacy. His wish was always for us to celebrate his life with joy, laughter, and music – just as he did. As a family, we are taking time to heal and process this loss. We will soon gather to honor him, to laugh, to dance, and to remember all the beautiful moments he gave us.

We hope this memorial website will serve as a place where those who loved him can share their memories, their stories, and their love for the incredible man Egon was. Your words and support during this time mean the world to us, and we are so grateful for the impact Egon had on each of your lives.

We look forward to coming together to celebrate the life of “El Capitan Lobo,” our Big Man, our Captain.

With love,

Caroline, Lars, and Laela

Dear Caroline and family, I hope you are as well as can be. Jack and tricky shared with me the very sad news so I wanted to send you a big air hug your way , some love and energy. Egon was the first captain i worked for and as you said, a true legend from legend! His guidance and wisdom pushed me to go on with the scholarship as he did to get the OOW of which I’m eternally grateful for. We always remember our first leader in yachting and what a great person to have worked with… His smile, sense of humour and funny rants certainly kept Jack and I on our toes despite us being two naughty deckhands !!! One of my fondest , yet terrifying at the time memories was when Egon sat Jack and I down to calm down and gave me some rather fatherly advice which resulted in me finding a lovely Colombian girlfriend! It was these words of wisdoms which probably saved and helped me develop the career as it is today. I still to this day use this example when coaching young naughty deckhands so a big thank you again for his wisdom. I finally met the lovely Lars last year and it was so lovely to finally meet the man behind all of your and Egon’s stories! I saw so much magic and similarity so I’m sure he’s taking a vital part in ensuring all the family can be as well as can be during this time. I think Lars said you had / were moving back to the UK but if you are still in Mallorca or are soon I’d love to see you and take you for a coffee at your favourite cappuccino spot! Sending you and the family lots of love. Joe lee xxx

Hello Dear Caroline and Family First of all our sympathy and warm thoughts to you all . You will find enclosed differents photos of our Friend Egon . Those photos was taken during our big Adventure up the North in Finland to share the same passion : Snowmobiling .( 2016 and 2017 ) Thanks to Jami a great friend of Egon , I had a chance to meet Egon in Finland in Tahko and then couples times in Lapland where we were riding together with snowmobile friends . We had a lot of fun during those experience in wilderness, guiding by Jami and tougher riders from Finland . We became good friends Egon and me because we had to support each other (we were both the foreigners (uk and Swiss) (smile) Egon had all the time a big smile , he took time to make joke and teasing us all the time A really a good friend with big heart and kind. We will not forget him . In name of the Pitka Reissu team Pascal
